This website is the personal, informational site of Mario Gomes, an independent digital marketing consultant based in Lisbon, Portugal. Your privacy matters to me, and I keep data collection to the absolute minimum needed to run this site and respond to your enquiries. This policy explains what I collect, why, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who is responsible for your data
The "data controller" for this website is:
- Mario Gomes — Digital Marketing Consultant
- R. Conde Ficalho 32, 1700-318 Lisboa, Portugal
- Email: CharletDortch585@gmail.com
If you have any questions about this policy or how your information is handled, you can reach me directly at the email address above.
2. What information I collect
This is a simple informational site. There are no user accounts, no login area, and no online store. I only collect personal data in the following situations:
Information you send me
When you email me — for example by clicking an "Email me" button — I receive the information you choose to share, such as your name, email address, company name, and the details of your message. This is entirely voluntary and provided by you.
Technical information
Like most websites, my hosting provider automatically records limited technical data when a page loads, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and the date and time of your visit. This is used to keep the site secure and running, and to understand aggregate traffic levels.
3. Cookies and analytics
This site does not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. I may use a privacy-friendly, aggregated analytics tool to understand how many people visit and which pages are popular. Where any analytics or non-essential cookies are used, they are only set with your consent, and you can decline without losing access to any part of the site.
In short: no ad networks, no selling your data, and no invasive tracking. Essential cookies (if any) are only there to make the site work.
4. Why I use your information (legal bases)
Under the GDPR, I only process personal data when I have a valid legal basis to do so:
- To respond to your enquiry — based on my legitimate interest, and your intention to enter into a possible working relationship, in replying to messages you send me.
- To keep the site secure and functional — based on my legitimate interest in protecting and maintaining this website.
- Analytics and non-essential cookies — based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
5. How long I keep it
I keep email correspondence only for as long as it is useful for our conversation or an ongoing project, and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping. If we don't end up working together and there's no reason to keep your message, I delete it. Technical logs are retained for a short period by my hosting provider before being overwritten.
6. Who I share it with
I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. I may share limited information with trusted service providers that help me run this site and my business, strictly as needed, including:
- My website hosting and infrastructure provider;
- My email provider, which stores and delivers our correspondence;
- A privacy-friendly analytics provider, if enabled.
These providers act on my instructions and are required to protect your data. I may also disclose information where I am legally required to do so.
7. International transfers
Some of the providers I use may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, I take reasonable steps to ensure your data remains protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Your rights under the GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data I hold about you;
- Rectify information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Erase your data ("right to be forgotten") where there is no ongoing reason to keep it;
- Restrict or object to certain processing, including anything based on legitimate interest;
- Data portability — receive a copy of the data you provided in a common format;
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, just email me at CharletDortch585@gmail.com. I'll respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), or your local supervisory authority.
9. Data security
I take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including secure connections (HTTPS) and access controls on the tools I use. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but I work to keep your data safe and limit access to only what is necessary.
10. Links to other sites
This site may link to third-party websites, such as social profiles or client examples. I am not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and I encourage you to read their own policies.
11. Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in my practices or the law. The current version is always the one published on this page. Significant changes will be clearly noted.
